Rune Factory 4 Dungeons: Maya Road

Above Photo: A picture of the boss monster and its cutscene. ^^
**You’ll be able to access this dungeon early on (after completing the Leon Karnak dungeon, I believe), but DO NOT wander in there. You will be instantly killed… *-*
**It’s one of my least favorite dungeons because of the cave-ins (you’ll fall underground into another part of the dungeon) and the high winds that will be hard to run in/maneuver, AND the falling rocks. There are also SWARMS of monsters and it can be overwhelming if you don’t bring any monsters/villagers to help and fight. Also, it’s best if you do the dungeon in parts, because it is enormous and will take several in-game days to complete (it should, anyway, unless you want to get fatigued and catch a cold!).
**It is, however, a great dungeon for finding ores and grasses necessary for forging/medicine/cooking. I guess that makes up for the loads of monsters and its difficulty… xD
"Beware of high winds, falling rocks and cave-ins.
**Note: You’ll be doing a lot of running and dodging in this dungeon. It’s pretty good practice for the epic boss battle that’s coming up in the next dungeon. ^^
Recommended level: 65 (I’d say around 80’s-90’s, even…)
Entering here at too low a level could be fatal… (this here the games says, not me! So if the game warns you it’s hard, listen to it! lol)
Monsters:
Heracles, Hammer Troll, Hornet Queen, Blackbird, Planchoa, Airror, Green.
Beware of cryptids who can absorb non-elemental attacks. Magic and elemental weapons recommended!
**There are also monsters labeled “???” under ground, but they come in the forms of giant slimes, dark fairies, and ogres/trolls, etc. These are the ones that absorb your magic!
**Of course, you guys have heard me stress enough that you ought to be forging elemental weapons at this point and using magic! ^^ But yes, it is definitely required here to make it through. xD
**Important: Earth magic seems to work the best here, despite its winter-y look. You’d think fire would work best! But the monsters are all slightly more susceptible to earth attacks than the others.
Obtainable Items: Amethyst, Emerald, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Ruby, Iron, Gold, Silver, Green Grass, Blue Grass, Purple Grass, Indigo Grass, Black Grass, Yellow Grass, Red Grass, Orange Grass.
**Basically forging/cooking/medicine heaven lol xD
Boss: Fiergaenger (lvl 100)
**A clone of Fiersome, one of the four divine dragons. Is a small challenge because he gets up and flies around (leaving you vulnerable with nothing to hit for a second or two), but otherwise should pose no problem.
Attacks:
Fly- he’ll fly around above you and try to smash you underneath him. You can easily dodge this attack because it is slow and you can see his shadow and judge where he will land.
Fireball- he summons a bunch of fireballs close to him. You will be drawn to him too (like a magnet), so be careful!
Giant Fireball- sends one huge fireball at you.
Attacks (when weakened):
Tail Whip
All previous attacks with more HP damage
Boss Drops: Fire Dragon Ash

Rune Factory 4 Dungeons: Idra Cave
Above Photo: We can’t find a non-mappy photo of Idra Cave, so cute fanart it is!
**Sorry for the wait again, guys! xD Haven’t been playing RF4 lately… (with school and other things)
**The longest cave you’ll encounter up to this point. URGH. It took me forever to beat because I had to upgrade my weapons and it was really hard since I couldn’t find the materials I needed (silver, which you can find easily AFTER you have upgraded your farming hammer, not your battle hammers. Otherwise you get a LOT of Scrap Metal. UGH).
"Recommended level: 45 (I’d say… around 60’s-ish)
Monsters: Elefun, Flower Blossom, Goblin, Goblin Archer, Minotaur, Daemon, Little Mage, Necro, Little Golem, Gaias.
**Special Note: In one of the rooms, you will encounter a Green (looks like a green pixie/fairy-type monster) who will ask you to save it. Defeat the monsters in the area and press the lever to release it from its “cage.” It will thank you and join your party. This is very helpful, because Greens use Wind magic, and she is already at a very high level and at a high affection when you get her. She packs a powerful punch and will help you get through the rest of the dungeon! Best of all, you can still keep her even if you have to teleport out of the dungeon (to go to bed or something). She will go to your Monster barn if you send her home and will be treated as a normal pet monster. ^-^
Obtainable Items: Gold, Sapphire, Orange Grass
Boss: Terraclone (lvl 92, if you have made the order to be able to see monster levels)
**A clone of one of the four divine dragons (Terrable). Not particularly strong.
Attacks:
Poison Gas
Lightning Bolt
Tail Whip
Attacks (when weakened)
Rock Throw (?)
Previously mentioned attacks with more HP damage
Boss Drops: Earth Dragon Ash
**Extra Note: Take advantage of the Green that joins your team! She’s very strong, and unlike many of the villagers, she uses elemental magic. Add her to your team! ^^ (she and one other monster have usurped Vishnal from his spot as my dungeon buddy, haha)

Rune Factory 4 Bachelorettes: Dolce

**Good morning everyone!! *yawn* Let’s start the day off with some information about Dolce! ^^

Game Profile

"A girl with a sharp tongue. Good at sewing and can contact ghosts, much to her annoyance. Often makes sarcastic remarks, mostly in the general direction of a certain obsessive ghost, but is actually sweet and warm-hearted."

Some additional information…

  • She and Pico, the little ghost at her side, are always together because they are literally an inseparable pair. Since Pico is dead, she cannot be separated from the one whom she is haunting (Dolce) or else she’ll disappear.
  • Dolce (or dulce), in a lot of languages, means sweet or sugar. Dolce is originally Italian and it means sweets/desserts.
  • I find this kind of funny because Dolce is very sarcastic (especially towards her little ghost friend).
  • She does love sweets, however! ^^ Especially those of her adoptive mother, Nancy. :D
  • Her way of speaking is a little different/older to reflect her displacement in time.
  • She has a hard time showing her feelings and being honest. In Japanese terms, she’s a tsundere. There are a lot of tsunderes in this game. xD
  • Develops a love for sewing and knitting from Nancy, and often talks about clothing and what clothes she makes for Pico.
  • Even though she always bullies Pico, deep down, she likes her… (we think)… *laugh*
  • Her and Pico’s way of dressing is called Lolita. ^^ Super cute, usually frilly, and vintage-inspired (you should look it up!)

Pico (the little adorable purple ghost)

  • She adores Dolce very much. So much, in fact, that it might be obsession (lol). Because she’s dead and is currently haunting Dolce, this certainly might be the case.
  • Sticks to Dolce like glue. Literally inseparable.
  • Mischievous, funny, and silly, she loves to fly around town to keep Dolce on her toes.
  • Is Dolce’s “translator” since Dolce always says sarcastic things and never means what she says.
  • Always gets pinched, interrupted, or scolded by Dolce because she’s always embarrassing Dolce.
  • She fondly calls Dolce “Dolly,” and Nancy also begins to call her Dolly.
  • At first, all of the town villagers were scared of a spirit in town (she was even acting up), but then they came to accept her. xD

Liked

All other sweets, All medicine, Hot beverages (Hot Chocolate, Hot Milk, Relax Tea, etc), Sewing/Knitting stuff like Quality Cloth, Quality Fur, Wool, String, etc.

Disliked

Vegetables and cold drinks (like juice), Material Stone, Lumber

**I really like Dolce and Pico (their style of dress). ^^ I just wish that their personalities were a bit more close to Lest/Frey. I think though if I raise Dolce’s friendship points, they will be a lot more closer… >.< Hmm… But her friendship points with me are already at 7… aww. >.<

**I accidentally gave Dolce Material Stone one time because you know how the villagers randomly pop into your room? By that entrance I have my storage bins/lumber and stone bins >.< Then Dolce was all like, “I prefer hot drinks…” *-* Don’t stand in my room then!! Geeez.

Rune Factory 4 Bachelorettes: Xiao Pai

Game Profile

"Works at the inn with her mother, Lin Fa. Mature, but has difficulty showing it due to her tendency to make clumsy mistakes. Feels lonely quite easily."

Some additional information…

  • She has a curious way of talking and is quite conscious of it. She ends a lot of her sentences with “yes?”. There’s a whole town event surrounding her accent (it’s quite amusing).
  • Loves her mother, whom she fondly calls “Mama,” but sometimes feels inferior to her mother’s cuteness and overwhelming popularity with the customers.
  • She’s proud of her mother and adores her very much (even calling her own mom cute).
  • Hopelessly clumsy, she is always breaking dishes and tripping over her own feet. Because of this, she calls herself “unlucky.”
  • Her and her mother’s Oriental style of dress and decor of the inn/bathhouse are similar to the Oriental inn/bathhouse in RF3 owned by Sakuya and Shino (who are also daughter and mother; in addition to Pia, who was adopted into the family).
  • While Sakuya and Shino have Japanese names and have Japanese-inspired clothing, Lin Fa and Xiao Pai have Chinese names and wear more Chinese-inspired clothing. Of course, in the game they just specify their origins as “from the East.” RF is a fantasy RPG after all! xD
  • Also, *hint hint* she’s the only bachelorette with a reverse proposal, so if you’re playing as Lest and want to marry her, wait for her reverse proposal event to trigger (unless you don’t want to see it at all and just propose yourself. You see a different scenario if you propose yourself though).
  • Like Sakuya and Pia, she and her mama like to think up of ways to attract customers to the inn (and will ask you for advice).

Rune Factory 4 Bachelorettes: Amber

**Sorry for the wait! Was a bit sick! >.< And… I don’t like how the game profile gives out that she’s a monster. Oh well…

Game Profile:

"Transformed from a butterfly-shaped monster and now works at Illuminata’s flower shop. Loves the warm sun and hates being cold. Her smiles seems to be contagious. Clorica’s sleeping buddy."

Some additional information…

  • Optimistic, cheerful, and very bubbly, not to mention carefree (which can be good and bad).
  • Known as the “cute one” by the bachelorettes.
  • Has an intense dislike for winter and fish. xD
  • Is the kind of character to address people with cute nicknames. ^^ She calls Ventuswill “Ven,” Illuminata “Ellie,” and Margaret “Meg.”
  • Sometimes she will play little games with you, and if you win, you get a prize (usually a flower)!
  • She loves to jump on Lest/Frey or glomp them without warning, but of course, she’s forgiven every time because she is so cute. :3
  • Definitely the youngest of the bachelorettes (maybe the same age as Kiel?).
  • Like Kiel, she also has a childlike view of the world and is a little naive.
  • She loves to play, is obsessed with flowers and honey (like her monster form suggests).
  • Not quite sure what it means by “Clorica’s sleeping buddy” unless you talk to Clorica and Amber in the flower shop, triggering a tiny dialogue of Clorica (of course) sleeping standing up. ^^ (that’s the only thing I can think of)
  • Doesn’t like Ironleaf because she says “it hurts in the summertime” (?).
